This campaign was about wish-fulfillment. Beyond Space Journeys is a fictional space tourism company that gives the middle class a taste of what it’s like to be amongst the stars. These sub-orbital space flights would be offered at a price point that is considerably more affordable than anything on the market today.  The unique selling point was the idea of giving customers the opportunity to make their childhood dreams a reality.  

The reason I chose to use nostalgia as the driving force of my campaign was that I wanted to harken back to a time when people were excited about space. Now that manned space flights have become few and far between, the consistent fascination with space that the public once had has faded. My goal was to use elements of these retro aesthetics, such as the classic twinkle star and Art Deco style type; To excite people and remind them of how they felt as a kid when the wonder of space was alive and well in their hearts, when space was all the rage. I modernized it by using reductionism in the type and icons as well as minimal color. My target market for this campaign was 30-50 year olds, in other words, elder Millennials and Gen-Xers. My research shows that this group responds well to nostalgia in marketing, which is why I decided to use this powerful tool in my campaign.
